Mental Health Partnerships (MHP) is seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Learning & Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs, professional development activities, and performance solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Training Delivery: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to adults in a variety of settings, utilizing experiential learning techniques.
- Needs Assessment: Assess the learning styles of our clients and tailor training programs to meet their individual and collective needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with co-facilitators to prepare and deliver training content, ensuring a high level of quality and effectiveness.
- Public Speaking: Present MHP's training programs and services at conferences, trainings, and seminars, showcasing our expertise and commitment to mental health excellence.
- Education and Support: Provide general education and support to stakeholders on topics such as peer support and recovery principles.
- Recruitment and Engagement: Participate in the recruitment of constituents to receive MHP's training programs, promoting our services and building relationships with potential clients.
- Leadership Development: Support the development of peer leaders by providing guidance and support at stakeholder meetings, as required by contract agreements.
- Training Evaluation: Continuously evaluate and improve MHP's training programs by facilitating assessments, providing feedback, and updating training content as needed.
- Examination Proctoring: Proctor course exams to ensure the validity of scoring and the integrity of the testing process.
- Learning Support: Monitor participant learning during training delivery and take action to improve individual and collective learner competence.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Education, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 years of experience working in psychiatric rehabilitation, behavioral health, or human services settings (including internships and volunteer work).
- Training Experience: 3 years of experience as a classroom trainer, organizational facilitator, or instructional designer (including internships and volunteer work) or a combination of the above.
- Adult Learning: Experience developing and facilitating trainings in an adult learning setting.
- Virtual Training: Experience facilitating training virtually in a remote environment.
- Behavioral Health Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Behavioral Health system in Pennsylvania, with experience in other states an asset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer skills, including desktop computing, email, time sheet management, electronic health records, internet research, and software applications relevant to the position.
- Learning Management Systems: Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (Canvas preferred) and virtual meeting platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong skill sets in oral and written communication, interpersonal relationships, and teamwork, with the ability to modify your approach to fit the style and needs of others.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Certifications: Certification as a Certified Peer Specialist and WRAP Facilitator in Pennsylvania are pluses, but not a requirement. Certification as a WRAP Facilitator is required within one year of hire.
- Sitting and Standing: Sit at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment and stand for up to 8 hours per day, up to 5 days in a row.
- Lifting: Lift up to 25 lbs.
- Travel: Travel within the community, including walking, driving agency vehicles, and/or taking public transportation, depending on the needs of the program.
- Communication: Frequent talking and listening, with the ability to talk, listen, retain information, and speak clearly and accurately.
- Attendance: Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for flexible work schedules, including evenings and/or overtime as needed.
