Policy Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Compliance Coordinator to join our Engineering Services team at Martin County, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting proposed construction plans and specifications, stormwater management reports and analyses, and other technical material submitted in support of private development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret proposed construction plans and specifications, stormwater management reports and analyses, and other technical material submitted in support of private development.
- Verify compliance with the County's Comprehensive Growth Management Plan and Land Development Regulations.
- Make appropriate recommendations for consideration of the Board of County Commissioners or the County Administrator's designee.
- Coordinate with other divisions and fields of expertise during the review process and make suggestions to conform to Martin County LDR.
- Participate in pre-application meetings and any other related meetings as assigned.
- Coordinate and attend Pre-Construction meetings, on an advisory level, with the Engineer of Record and construction inspection staff.
- Review other departmental permit applications for compliance with the cited Land Development Regulations.
- Perform field visits to review progress of projects and to review conditions of site plan approval and checks for special exceptions affecting the permit.
- Attend Joint Application Workshop meetings with applicants, Local Planning Agency (LPA) meetings, and Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meetings to provide technical response, as requested.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Zoning, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in civil engineering, land planning, zoning, and/or construction of roads, drainage, residential or industrial subdivisions, and/or commercial sites.
