The Credit & Collections Representative will work closely with the sales department to ensure timely setup of accounts and release of pending orders. This role involves gathering credit information for the establishment of accounts within a set timeframe, including checking references. The credit representative will also call on past-due accounts, make notations on accounts, provide requested documentation on past-due invoices, collect or reconcile disputes and/or discrepancies, and establish working relationships with the accounts payable department of all assigned customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities:- Process electronic payments for checks and credit cards
- Maintain accounts within multiple systems
- Work with a high sense of urgency and take personal initiative
- Provide excellent customer service
- Analyze credit history and assess risk within a limited timeframe
- 2-year accounting or related degree
- 3+ years' experience in business-to-business collections
- Strong customer service background
- Excellent problem-solving, verbal, written communication, and people skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and ensure all tasks are completed
- Intermediate Excel and computer skills
- 16 days PTO plus holidays available during the first year of employment
