Position Summary:

We are currently in search of a Cloud Security Specialist to contribute to an Intelligence Community customer program focused on the integration, operation, and maintenance of various systems, both legacy and in development. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, adaptability, sound judgment, and the capability to manage multiple concurrent tasks efficiently. This role involves collaboration with internal team members to ensure systems are functional, secure, and scalable, as well as serving as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters with internal leadership and customer PMO and security counterparts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the design and execution of cyber security system architecture.
  • Create cyber security architectural documentation and conduct analyses of cyber security features and existing systems in relation to future requirements and trends.
  • Review and provide insights on system requirements based on the cyber security posture.
  • Compile industry best practices and lessons learned for future iterations and new designs.
  • Support the Engineering Review Board by assessing artifacts for architectural compliance.
  • Apply extensive experience in the systems engineering lifecycle to specific cyber security initiatives related to architectural design and development.
  • Resolve architecture implementation challenges during integration and testing phases.
  • Guide and assist team members in deploying and configuring collection services and tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to transition data to appropriate data repositories.
  • Fulfill hands-on Risk Management Framework (RMF) responsibilities.
  • Lead Vulnerability Management and Continuous Monitoring tasks in partnership with Enterprise Security Services.

Required Qualifications:

  • CLEARANCE: TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAM III Certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.)
  • Minimum Requirement - COMPTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT/IAM II/III certification
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience; OR 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with AWS cloud is essential.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with a positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and learn swiftly.
  • Strong organizational skills: capable of planning and prioritizing work, ensuring tasks are completed to high standards with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills: able to convey ideas clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, adapting presentation styles based on audience and context.
  • Expertise in Security Assessment and Authorization (A&A).
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (S3 Buckets, EC2, Reserved Instances, etc.).
  • Experience in creating System Engineering documentation (VDDs, diagrams, etc.).
  • Proficient with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat).
  • Working knowledge of XACTA 360, Tenable Security Center, Nessus, Trelix ePO, ACAS, HBSS, and Audit enterprise security services.
  • Expertise in ACAS Vulnerability and STIG scanning, reporting, management, and remediation.
  • Recognized as an industry expert in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) steps one through six, with the ability to lead Assessment and Authorization (A&A) tasks to successfully achieve Authority to Operate (ATO).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Cloud Certification.
  • Experience with Engineering Review Boards and Change Management.
  • Prior experience with ICD 503.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
  • Knowledge of Xacta and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
