Job Overview

Mercy Flights Inc is seeking a dedicated Field Supervisor for a full-time position.

The Field Supervisor is entrusted with overseeing medical operations personnel during assigned shifts. This role ensures adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local EMS regulations. The supervisor is responsible for enforcing company policies, guidelines, protocols, contracts, and directives while working a schedule designated by the Ground Manager. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to fulfill all essential duties outlined in the Paramedic Job Description, alongside the responsibilities specified in this position.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, exempt role;
  • Twelve (12) hour shifts;

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains regular communication, both oral and written, with Supervisors on other shifts;
  • Coordinates tasks as assigned by the Ground Manager or VPO;
  • Provides continuous guidance to all assigned EMS units and medical staff;
  • Oversees all field operations during assigned shifts, delegating tasks as necessary, including unit staffing, posting, equipment stocking, vehicle upkeep, and cleanliness;
  • Participates in Operations and Leadership meetings, along with other meetings as required;
  • Monitors all medical operations, taking corrective measures as needed regarding any policy or regulation breaches, and resolving issues that may affect operational readiness and efficiency;
  • Evaluates the performance of all medical personnel in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and directives, fostering accountability and feedback discussions. Implements plans to enhance employee performance;
  • Prepares oral or written reports for Leadership regarding all matters related to medical personnel, including staff feedback, concerns, and recommendations;
  • Completes all necessary forms and reports as mandated by policy and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Paramedicine or equivalent education and experience necessary for obtaining an Oregon Paramedic license;
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience working at a Paramedic level on a 911 ambulance. Previous EMS experience below the Paramedic level may also be considered;
  • Oregon Paramedic License;
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License;
  • Nationally Registered Paramedic certification. If not certified, proof of continuing education that meets Nationally Registered Paramedic standards is required at recertification times;
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications. Must be obtained within eighteen (18) months of starting the position;
  • Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment and annual Paramedic physical exam and functional testing as a condition of continued employment;
  • Must meet and maintain competencies required of a Paramedic;
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, subordinates, customers, outside agencies, and the public;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and guidelines clearly and legibly;
  • Requires proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and a working knowledge of internet and web-based applications.
