Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Mixologist and Food Server to contribute to our exceptional team. If you have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service, possess extensive knowledge of food and beverages, and thrive in a vibrant, fast-paced setting, then the Bistro|Bar at the Courtyard Residence Inn Lake Nona is an ideal workplace for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests at the bar and restaurant.
  • Engage with patrons, take their orders, and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare and cook food items as requested by customers.
  • Address any special requests from diners positively and efficiently.
  • Conduct visual inspections of all food items before serving.
  • Organize and prepare the food line daily in accordance with the menu.
  • Evaluate customer preferences and suggest menu items accordingly.
  • Mix ingredients to create cocktails and other beverages.
  • Maintain a guest-focused approach to ensure an excellent dining experience.
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations and standards.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Keep the bar area clean and organized, including restocking supplies and washing glassware and utensils.
  • Assist with the preparation of vegetables and condiments as needed for the next shift.
  • Return unused food items to designated storage areas, ensuring all perishables are covered and dated.
  • Adhere to proper food handling and storage procedures in line with federal, state, and local regulations.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience as a bartender/server.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving food and beverages.
  • Ability to communicate in a second language is advantageous.
  • Positive demeanor and strong communication abilities.
  • Capability to maintain an organized, stocked, and clean bar environment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse clientele.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and handling procedures.
  • Experience with cash handling is essential.
