Position Overview

Are you an organized, detail-focused individual with excellent communication abilities and a dedication to customer satisfaction? Butler Machinery Company is seeking a Service Advisor to enhance our service department. In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the time of service technicians, managing invoicing for work orders, and effectively communicating job quotes, statuses, and schedules.

Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM (CST)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Service Manager in estimating and quoting upcoming service contracts.
  • Delegate tasks and job assignments to Service Technicians based on their expertise.
  • Proactively seek customer feedback and address any issues promptly.
  • Review repair work orders for accuracy in parts, materials, and labor before approving equipment release.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager in various aspects of the service department, potentially stepping in during their absence.
  • Maintain open communication regarding customer complaints with the Service Manager.
  • Support the implementation of Contamination Control Guidelines within the team.
  • Regularly meet with the Service Manager to assess department performance and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of all equipment sold within the dealership's purview.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while performing job duties.
  • Represent Butler Machinery Company professionally in all customer and community interactions.
  • Engage in company-sponsored training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in communication efforts such as customer events and departmental meetings.
  • Foster a positive working relationship with colleagues and management, emphasizing teamwork and exceptional customer service.
  • Organize and delegate responsibilities to ensure the department operates smoothly.
  • Provide constructive feedback to employees, recognizing their performance and encouraging self-improvement.
  • Coach employees on assignments, offering technical guidance as necessary.
  • Assist in the selection, training, and development of team members in line with departmental goals.
  • Promote the vision, mission, and values of Butler Machinery Company.
  • Assist the heavy equipment service manager as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent technical education required.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Solid technical knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
