Sioux City Ford Lincoln is eager to welcome a Service Consultant to our team. The Service Consultant will serve as the intermediary between clients and our service technicians handling their vehicles. You will assess service needs, promote, and schedule maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales targets established by management.
  • Maintain a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) rating at or above the group average, aiming for the top 10%.
  • Welcome customers promptly and courteously, informing those in line that assistance will be provided shortly.
  • Engage with service customers to ascertain the nature of their vehicle issues, gather customer and vehicle information, and arrange appointments.
  • Advise clients on vehicle maintenance and the importance of adhering to manufacturer specifications using maintenance guidelines.
  • Monitor the progress of each repair order throughout the day. Communicate with customers regarding any changes in estimates or timelines. Document modifications on repair orders appropriately.
  • Handle phone inquiries about ongoing work and appointments, ensuring prompt return of messages.
  • Clarify warranty information and policies to customers.
  • Identify repair orders requiring special attention, such as urgent requests or customer wait times. Keep the Service Manager informed of any issues or potential challenges involving repairs, customers, and equipment.
  • Stay updated on technical and performance information regarding all vehicles serviced by the dealership.
  • Ensure timely and efficient closure of repair orders upon completion of work.
  • If additional services are necessary, explain the details to the customer, including costs and time implications.
  • Adhere to all customer handling processes established by the department manager, including greeting, vehicle walk-arounds, maintenance scheduling, follow-up calls, and active delivery to the customer.
  • Perform any other duties or training as assigned or requested by dealership management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Adhere to dealership safety policies and practices, reporting any accidents to a Manager/Supervisor immediately.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and information.
  • Preferred two years of experience in a dealership role.
  • Sales experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
