Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and advancing the field of healthcare? We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System.

Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in designated specialty areas, including diagnosis, treatment, education, and referrals. This role will serve as a resource and role model for clinical practice, training, evaluation, and direct management of practitioners and students.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical practitioner duties in designated specialty areas, obtaining histories, performing physical exams, making assessments, and ordering tests to determine diagnoses and plan of care.
  • Record health history, findings, treatment, and recommendations accurately, clearly, and concisely, managing time effectively to ensure optimal use of patient and provider resources.
  • Consult appropriately with supervising physicians and refer patients as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Include patients and/or families in determining the plan of care when appropriate, educating them to ensure self-management, follow-up, and compliance with established treatment.
  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure continuous quality care and promote positive health outcomes with a focus on good customer service and patient satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the practice field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations.
  • Maintain and implement knowledge of all applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the respective APP fields, developing effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws and program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, or Master's Degree in Nursing accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).
  • Experience: None required, but equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network, and current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be attained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
