Industrialization Engineer for Seat Trim Development

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Industrialization Engineer to join our team at Tesla. As an Industrialization Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing industrialization strategies for seat trim components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques and quality control processes.
  • Drive negotiation for piece price and product development to ensure that Tesla's pricing meets best-landed-cost expectations.
  • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Tesla Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams.
  • Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.
  • Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability.
  • 5+ years of assembly plant experience working directly with injection molding, blow forming, SMC or similar in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • Understanding process engineering principles of resin fed final products.
  • Experience in Quality Systems a plus: PPAP/APQP processes.
  • Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level.

Expected Compensation: $80,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
