Job Summary

The Provider Onboarding Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Provider Recruiter in recruitment efforts and is responsible for the onboarding process of physicians and advanced practitioners. This position requires a high level of critical thinking, problem-solving, and anticipation of barriers to success to ensure that a provider candidate meets the timeline for hire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all steps of the Provider Recruitment Interview, Site Visit, and Onboarding process with payer credentialing and medical staff privileges.
  • Act as the professional single point of contact for new providers and Renown internal departments to ensure a seamless, efficient, and timely onboarding experience.
  • Provide technical support of recruitment efforts in conjunction with Provider Recruiters and Renown leadership.
  • Maintain and exhibit high standards of professional communication, courtesy, performance, and human relations skills at all times.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Renown Physicians and Advanced Practitioners, Renown leadership, and contacts in the community.
  • Support in-house Provider Recruiters and navigate Provider candidates through the interview, site visit, and upon hire-onboarding with Medical Staff for privileges and Payer credentialing process.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of the Renown health system and regional communities to assist with candidate inquiries.
  • Collaborate with in-house Provider Recruiters to facilitate the planning, scheduling, and execution of the site visit for the provider candidates.
  • Assist with Candidate reimbursement process for incidental expenses incurred by candidate or spouse.
  • Assist New Providers with Relocation efforts and setting up accounts with vendors, as needed.
  • Provide tracking and invoice processing of departmental costs associated with Provider Recruitment efforts and assistance with budget reporting as requested.
  • Act as single point of contact for all departments involved in credentialing and Onboarding of new providers.
  • Provide newly recruited Providers with assistance with documentation needed for the completion of the State Licensure, credentialing, and privileging process.
  • Assist in-house Provider Recruiters with Preliminary Verification processes including references, OIG searches, background checks, licensure, and board certification.
  • Continually improve on processes, procedures, policies, and techniques to recruit providers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of pertinent federal and state laws and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer minimum 2 years of experience in areas of healthcare and/or legal secretarial, and/or executive administrative support.
  • Valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria upon hire.
  • Certificate of Onboarding and Retention (OARC) from the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment (AAPPR) required within first two years of employment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
