Atrium Health Charlotte is in search of a dedicated Float LPN / LVN to join our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care.

Position Overview

The Float LPN will deliver nursing services and support the planning and execution of care strategies aimed at ensuring patient comfort and well-being, all under the direct oversight of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient evaluations to assess nursing care requirements based on the analysis of pertinent data.
  • Identify situations that necessitate immediate nursing intervention.
  • Utilize nursing knowledge to accurately document patient observations, treatments, and responses to care.
  • Contribute to the formulation and modification of care plans by supplying relevant data and identifying potential goals for review by the RN.
  • Communicate significant changes in patient status to the appropriate clinical personnel.
  • Execute the established care plan under RN supervision, ensuring all tasks are completed effectively.
  • Maintain awareness of patient progress and document accordingly in medical records.
  • Prioritize and organize workload to ensure timely and quality patient care delivery.
  • Enhance knowledge and skills in line with current nursing practices, performing only those tasks for which competency has been established.
  • Timely document assessments, procedures, and patient education, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Facilitate and evaluate the effectiveness of patient and family education as directed by the registered nurse.
Physical Requirements

This role involves various physical activities including walking, standing, lifting, and bending. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds when managing patients and medical supplies. Proficiency in English is required, along with intact sensory abilities and critical thinking skills to respond swiftly to changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited practical nursing program and possess current LPN licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required in accordance with policy guidelines.
