Job Summary


The Operations Management Specialist in Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is a professional role tasked with overseeing all payable functions, which encompass procurement, accounts payable, inventory management, and supporting various daily operations under the Financial Operations division in PTS.

This position also acts as the backup timekeeper for the department.

Job Responsibilities

30% Oversee all facets of procurement for PTS, including requisitions, invoice processing, and related expenditures totaling approximately $15M annually. Scrutinize terms and conditions, policies, and requirements on all contracts to ensure adherence to regulations. Inform the Manager of Financial Operations of any potential issues to avert contract lapses. Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely processing of payments and updates.

20% Manage the digital archive and retention of all PTS financial records in line with university retention policies.

20% Collaborate with all departmental LaCarte holders to generate monthly expense reports for all expenditures and travel.


15% Audit, monitor, and update the PTS inventory, serving as the liaison for the department with LSU Property Management & Louisiana Property Management Assistance Association (LPAA). Facilitate the surplus of tagged and non-tagged assets. Manage all key requests internally and with other campus units. Maintain access controls for the departmental key box.


10% Review and process vehicle maintenance forms for the PTS fleet, addressing any discrepancies. Oversee the issuance and tracking of all FuelTrac records for PTS, acting as the liaison with University Stores. Coordinate all telecom work requests and serve as the primary contact for the department's copier needs. Reconcile all work order requests monthly.

5% Assist other business office personnel during peak periods and on special projects. Serve as backup to the department timekeeper. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Experience in higher education, business office, or procurement.

Licenses/Certifications

Minimum LA Class E or equivalent driver's license.

This position may be required to work during official closures, but is otherwise not mandated to report to the physical campus during such times, provided their absence does not pose a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus.


Due to the nature of the position and its responsibilities, this role is subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.

This position has access to/directly handles cash. A financial history/credit check is required per FASOP HR-04.

Additional work hours and availability outside of standard operational hours may be necessary during peak periods.
