Fire Protection Engineer Job Description

Gdm Ae is a leading Architecture and Engineering firm with a strong presence in the Pacific Northwest and Southwest regions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preliminary and detailed analysis for the design of fire protection projects, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive studies, design reports, engineering plans, and construction specifications, utilizing industry-standard software and tools.
  • Evaluate alternative approaches and address technical inquiries from clients and peers, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Provide consultation services for life safety, building, and fire code compliance, ensuring that all projects meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Offer engineering support for construction projects on an as-needed basis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience working on fire protection-related engineering projects, with a proven track record of success.
  • Existing professional registration or ability to obtain within 3-6 months, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering design software, with the ability to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to set priorities and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
