Position Overview

The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the effective execution of essential contractual agreements.

The Associate Manager of Strategic Procurement is responsible for conducting thorough market research on suppliers, monitoring supplier performance, and proactively engaging with vendors in conjunction with other teams. The scope of work will vary, necessitating collaboration with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders and executives. Key areas of focus include supplier onboarding, execution of sourcing events, supplier due diligence, and contract formulation.

Essential Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing RFx information, engaging with suppliers, and initiating contracts.
  • Conducting data analysis, gathering market intelligence, and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
  • Representing Exact Sciences in supplier interactions, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Monitoring performance against category budgets.
  • Determining optimal sources of supply through competitive analysis of current suppliers.
  • Supporting the execution of requests for proposals (RFx) in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Presenting RFx data to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Communicating effectively with personnel at various levels, including business owners and leaders.
  • Advising Supplier Relationship Managers on supplier strategies prior to engagement.
  • Participating in contract negotiations to establish supplier expectations.
  • Acting as an escalation point for Procurement and Supplier Management regarding contract-related topics.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Ensuring adherence to sourcing standards across the organization through education of impacted departments.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to frequently changing priorities.
  • Exhibiting a collaborative spirit and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Making informed decisions with limited information and operating independently.
  • Demonstrating analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills by effectively organizing and presenting complex issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with GMP facilities, equipment, and processes.
  • Understanding of negotiation principles, including contractual terms and risk management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in the industry.
  • 1+ years of experience in sourcing operations (RFx, analyses, etc.).
  • Experience with SAP and Coupa software.
  • Experience in regulated environments (ISO 13485/15189, CAP/CLIA).
  • Experience with international supply chains and customer interactions.

Salary Range:

$67,000 - $109,000. This annual base salary is for this position located in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is also eligible for bonuses and company stock options.
