Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

Catholic Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for establishing and monitoring the department's quality control policies, ensuring documentation of all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Correlate laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria and demonstrate appropriate understanding of the needs of patients and visitors for each specific age group.
  • Address safety and psychological needs in planning or delivering care.
  • Establish and implement service priorities, workflow patterns; monitor workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services.
  • Demonstrate the ability to evaluate departmental performance and recommend measures to improve services and quality of current methodologies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school.
  • Licensed under the NYS Dept of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
  • Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and/or microbiology preferred.
  • Hospital experience desired.
  • Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Good oral and written communication skills essential.
