Blood Bank Supervisor Job Description

Catholic Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Blood Bank Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the blood bank, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the blood bank team, ensuring that all staff members are competent and performing their duties to the highest standard.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of blood products, ensuring that all products are safe and effective for patient use.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Perform routine and special procedures associated with the blood bank, including maintenance of instrumentation and performance of quality control.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory technology or a related field.
  • Current New York State Department of Education license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT).
  • Minimum of 4 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience, with supervisory or administrative experience preferred.
