Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development

The Kern Community College District is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development. This key position will play a critical role in driving the district's economic and workforce development initiatives, fostering partnerships with local businesses, industries, and labor organizations, and ensuring that our community college programs meet the evolving needs of the region.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement economic and workforce development strategies that align with the district's mission and goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional stakeholders, including business leaders, industry partners, and community organizations.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop and deliver programs that address the needs of the region's workforce and economy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to district staff and faculty on economic and workforce development initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets and resources to support economic and workforce development initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of economic and workforce development initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of management-level experience in economic and workforce development or a related field.
- Two years of experience in workforce development initiatives and/or CTE-related programming.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students and employees.
- Master's degree in business, communications, educational leadership, or a related field.
- Applicable state and federal laws, codes, regulations, practices, and issues affecting economic and workforce development programs.
- Economic and workforce development instructional and program development.
- California Community College curriculum development and approval process.
- Budget development, fiscal performance measures, and administration.
- Collaborative strategies for diverse groups/populations.
- Leadership, team building, motivation, and conflict resolution principles.
- Gathering and analyzing data and making relevant recommendations based on that analysis.
- Interpersonal skills, using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Mission, procedures, and operations of California Community Colleges.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Principles and practices of training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
$136,479.66 - $179,095.42 monthly
