Job Summary:

The Banquet Sous Chef is a key member of the culinary team, responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in the daily operations of the hotel's food and beverage outlets. This role requires a high level of expertise in culinary arts, leadership, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in developing and implementing menus, recipes, and food preparation procedures.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Direct and manage a team of culinary staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement food and beverage marketing programs.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
