Process Engineer

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, this role focuses on driving process improvements that directly impact our bottom line. As a Process Engineer, you will:

  • Champion safety leadership and advance our Zero & Beyond safety culture.
  • Share your expertise through training and mentoring others in best practices.
  • Identify and evaluate the risk/reward potential of improvement opportunities, advocating for Lean Sigma principles.
  • Achieve tangible results and ensure the sustainability of process controls (CTQ's & CTP's).
  • Lead and influence diverse teams at various levels within the organization.
  • Enhance yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and products using appropriate data and statistical tools.
  • Understand and utilize control systems and instrumentation to improve process capabilities.
  • Specify, procure, and commission new manufacturing equipment and instrumentation, including capital cost justification and related documentation.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment on the shop floor, driving root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Maintain performance specifications and bills of material for all current products.
  • Perform Lean Facilitator duties as required to implement and sustain lean initiatives throughout your area of responsibility.
  • You will have the opportunity to pursue a LEAN SIGMA Greenbelt certification, which is required during year 1 or 2.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. (Other technical degrees considered with applicable experience; Manufacturing experience is desirable).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Proven track record of success in the design, redesign, installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment in a continuous operation environment.
  • Results-oriented individual with a proven track record in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Strong project management abilities. Proven ability to utilize DOE and SPC techniques (Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt experience is a plus).
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple, complex tasks effectively while handling pressure on a daily basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in wire & cable manufacturing, specifically thermoplastic or thermoset conductors.
  • Project management training or certification.
