Avera McKennan Hospital is a leading health care organization that has been recognized for its excellence in patient care and employee satisfaction. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Stem Cell Laboratory.

About the Position

This is a full-time position that requires a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood banking, stem cell handling, flow cytometry, and molecular techniques. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT is required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties in the Stem Cell Laboratory.
  • Utilize scientific principles, technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, and corrective action.
  • Correlate test results and provide continuing education on clinical laboratory-related topics.

Work Schedule

This position requires a Monday-Friday schedule with shifts ranging from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. On-call duties will be required every 3rd week/weekend. The hourly range for this position is $41.50 per hour, with actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
