Aquatic Safety and Emergency Response

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard to join our team at the UCSF Fitness and Recreation department. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our patrons and staff while working in a fast-paced aquatic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct daily safety checks of the swimming pools and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment for all users.
  • Participate in emergency response and evacuation procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Aquatics Manager to maintain a clean and well-maintained aquatic facility.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, including CPR and first aid.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate (active or obtained by start date).
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
