Job Title: Weekday Morning Lifeguard

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at Highlands Recreation District. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our patrons while they enjoy our aquatic facilities. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities:

* Enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for patrons
* Perform lifeguarding duties, including rescues and first aid as necessary
* Maintain a clean and debris-free pool area, including the surrounding deck and locker rooms
* Assist with pool operations, including opening and closing procedures
* Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive public relations
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on safety protocols and procedures

Requirements:

* Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification
* Ability to perform rescues and administer first aid/CPR as necessary
* Knowledge of pool rules and practices, including enforcement
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
* Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff

Physical Demands:

* This position requires the ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as perform heavy manual lifting as needed
* May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals, heat, cold, sun, and inclement weather conditions
* Must be able to remain focused and alert in a dynamic environment
