Fox TV Stations operates a significant network of broadcast television stations across the country, including affiliations with the FOX Network. Our stations are dedicated to delivering high-quality sports, entertainment, and local news content, producing around 1,200 hours of local news weekly.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Production Technician to join our Engineering team at FOX 35 Orlando. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of various news formats, including AM and PM broadcasts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and executing instructions from the Director via headset.
  • Communicating effectively and clearly with team members.
  • Anticipating the needs of the Director during live broadcasts.
  • Ensuring all microphones are operational, properly charged, and tuned to the correct frequency.
  • Conducting audio checks for studio microphones and live-remote setups before airing.
  • Confirming talent is prepared and informed of cues prior to broadcast.
  • Verifying the functionality of all studio equipment before going live.
  • Monitoring audio levels and mixing sound using the audio booth's QC monitor.
  • Labeling RTS panels accurately for studio or remote talent.
  • Updating daily music playlists as requested by executive producers.
  • Understanding camera-blocking positions for newscasts and ensuring shots are framed correctly.
  • Performing minor repairs on production equipment as necessary.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the studio environment.
  • Familiarity with Sony ELC coding and show execution is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional climbing or balancing. Candidates should be able to lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds and possess various vision capabilities, including close and distance vision.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A foundational understanding of television production and production automation systems is essential. A college degree or equivalent experience in television production is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The ability to operate a diverse range of production equipment is necessary. Weekend and holiday availability is required for this position.
