Role Summary

The Insurance Product Specialist will be tasked with creating, updating, and executing rate and rule manuals, underwriting guidelines, and policy coverage documents. This role includes conducting competitive analysis, assisting operational teams with data insights, and ensuring precision in documentation submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Development: Create and revise product rate/rule manuals and documentation, ensuring alignment with state product strategies and compliance requirements.
  • Market Analysis: Perform market research and maintain competitive profiles, including rates and guidelines of leading competitors.
  • Data Insights: Extract, validate, and analyze data to support operational teams. Examine trends such as losses, cancellations, and new business growth.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Oversee policy documents, develop documentation for changes, and ensure all filings are accurate and thoroughly documented.
  • Collaboration: Engage with various stakeholders, including internal departments and external partners, to support new product initiatives and features.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Risk Management, Finance, Business, or Statistics is required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the Property Casualty sector is preferred, with strong data analytics and interpretation capabilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, R, and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with Guidewire is advantageous.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of insurance principles, regulations, and industry standards. Ability to analyze data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the capability to present information effectively.

Additional Information

  • Certificates: Completion of AINS, API Designation, CPCU, or equivalent insurance certification in Property and Casualty insurance is required.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate verbally. Occasionally required to stand and walk.
