Fox TV Stations operates a network of 29 full power broadcast television stations across the country. These stations are strategically located in major designated market areas (DMAs), including affiliations with the FOX Network. Our stations are dedicated to delivering a diverse range of content, including sports, entertainment, and local news, producing approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Production Technician to join our Engineering department at FOX 35 Orlando. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of AM and PM News formats, along with various show formats. Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and executing directives from the Director via headset.
  • Communicating effectively and clearly, both in person and through headsets.
  • Anticipating the needs of the Director to ensure smooth operations.
  • Managing talent and guest microphones, ensuring they are fully operational and correctly configured.
  • Conducting audio checks for studio microphones and live-remote setups prior to broadcasts.
  • Ensuring all studio equipment is functioning properly before air time.
  • Monitoring audio levels and mixing using quality control monitors.
  • Labeling RTS panels accurately for studio or remote talent.
  • Updating daily music request playlists as per executive producers' instructions.
  • Understanding camera-blocking positions and ensuring shots are framed according to directives.
  • Performing minor repairs on production equipment as necessary.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the studio and production areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. Candidates should be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and possess various vision abilities, including close and distance vision.

QUALIFICATIONS

A foundational understanding of television production and production automation systems is essential.

EDUCATION

A college degree or equivalent experience in television production is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays as required.
