Position: Part-Time Laboratory Operations Specialist

Work Schedule: Evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including rotating weekends.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Laboratory Operations Specialist is accountable for the reception of laboratory specimens, ensuring the integrity and acceptability of samples. This role involves inputting laboratory testing orders into the Lab Information System and registering patient demographic and insurance details into the patient management system.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
2. Responding to inquiries via phone regarding specimen requirements, test availability, and testing status.
3. Compiling laboratory results and managing specimen referrals to external laboratories while adhering to storage protocols.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School Diploma is required, along with additional training or equivalent knowledge. Candidates should have up to 18 months of training beyond high school or equivalent experience. For applicants educated outside the United States, documentation of equivalency evaluation is necessary to meet CLIA standards.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

At least six months of relevant experience is preferred.
