Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to guarantee seamless operations.
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings to address operational issues and equip staff with essential information.
- Exemplify leadership through positive actions and communication, fostering a collaborative environment among team members and guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all Banquet storage areas and ensure uniforms meet the highest standards.
- Proactively identify and address guest service needs, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and quality standards to enhance service delivery.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and the preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Build rapport with returning patrons and cultivate relationships with new guests.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role within a luxury hotel, catering, or events environment.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software, including payroll and scheduling tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Skills:
- Experience managing both non-union and union staff in a hotel setting.
- A proactive approach to leadership, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational abilities and project management skills.
- A passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for guests.
- A desire to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Professional Standards:
The Event Operations Manager is expected to uphold a high level of professionalism and exemplary leadership at all times. Close collaboration with staff to train and motivate them is essential for the successful operation of the Rainbow Room.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.
- Comfortable working in various atmospheric conditions, including moderate to loud noise levels.
- Regularly required to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and occasionally pushing/pulling heavier equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity for operating necessary equipment.
