Radiological Safety Technician II

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) is responsible for the management and operation of critical national security facilities. This is a limited-term full-time position. The successful candidate may be employed for up to two years, with the possibility of an additional year based on organizational needs.
The Radiological Control Department seeks a detail-oriented individual to serve as a Limited Term Radiological Control Technician II.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct radiological surveys and monitor conditions and practices within designated areas.
- Ensure radiological instruments are operational prior to use, including air sampling devices and contamination monitors. Assist in the placement of radiological signage to prevent unauthorized access to work sites.
- Adhere to radiological work permits and procedures, ensuring compliance with approved work control documents.
- Participate in briefings and provide guidance on radiological conditions and requirements for specific tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of radiation surveys and job activities using appropriate documentation.
- Exercise stop work authority responsibly when safety or radiological conditions necessitate.
- Engage in emergency response team activities, which may involve travel.
- Maintain current training and qualifications, attending necessary training sessions to ensure competency in radiological control.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Associate degree in a relevant field or a High School diploma with two years of related experience.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively on a variety of tasks is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook is required.
- Must be fit for and qualified to use various respiratory protection and personal protective equipment.
- Participation in National Response Asset Deployment activities may be required.
- Eligibility for the Human Reliability Program (HRP) may be necessary.
- Completion of DOE RCT Core and Site Academics qualifications is preferred.
- The primary work location will be at a designated national security site.
- Work schedule will typically consist of four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, with potential for overtime.
- A pre-employment physical examination, including a drug screening, is mandatory. MSTS enforces a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- A valid driver's license is required.
