Role Summary:

This role is for a mid-level Fleet Automotive Technician II responsible for providing high-quality maintenance and repair services for fleet vehicles, emphasizing customer satisfaction and cost efficiency. The Technician may operate independently or collaborate within a team environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, transmission flushes, and vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues. Perform minor repairs as necessary.
  • Based on certification levels, execute various repairs and maintenance tasks, which may encompass OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension systems, electrical systems, and more.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and disposing of fluids in compliance with regulations.
  • Create and manage vehicle maintenance records and history. May involve outfitting new vehicles with essential equipment.
  • Handle more complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and fabrication tasks as required.
  • Ensure timely repairs by coordinating with vendors for parts and services. May provide roadside assistance when necessary.
  • Design and fabricate custom equipment as needed, including welding tasks.
  • Diagnose and repair intricate hydraulic systems, generators, electrical systems, hybrids, and onboard computer systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle service and repair; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a minimum of 4 A.S.E. certifications within 18 months of employment.
  • Ongoing training is required to maintain A.S.E. status and adapt to evolving technology and fleet requirements.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with both standard and automatic transmissions.
  • Capability to work safely in a dynamic environment and frequently enter and exit vehicles.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing, with frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (tools, equipment).
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
