About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer to join our Men's Fashion team at Nordstrom Inc. As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, sketching, and executing collection ideas that represent the latest fashion trends and appeal to the Nordstrom customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and execute collection ideas that meet the brand's aesthetic and commercial goals
  • Design original and commercially viable products that meet the brand's standards
  • Act as a fashion authority to drive brand designs and point of view
  • Manage the design calendar to ensure all milestones and due dates are met
  • Research materials and components to ensure high-quality products
  • Manage product fit sessions to ensure accurate sizing and fit
  • Collaborate with the Design Director on color and pattern selection each season
  • Prioritize workload and complex work streams across the design team
  • Effectively collaborate with leadership and cross-divisional partners to ensure alignment on priorities and direction
  • Research and analyze trends and competitive brands to stay ahead of the market

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in the design industry
  • 2+ years of experience managing a design team, a plus
  • Strong ability to hand-sketch and communicate design ideas effectively
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to work independently or as a team
  • Ability to handle high volume of styles and prioritize workload effectively
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to think strategically and deliver the right level of detail appropriate to the audience
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe CS
