About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Restoration Design Engineer to join our team at Herrera Environmental Consultants. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing restoration projects that promote environmental sustainability and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement restoration design plans for rivers, streams, and floodplains
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement restoration projects
  • Conduct site assessments and develop restoration plans to mitigate environmental impacts
  • Prepare design plans, construction specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Manage design tasks through design completion and construction
Requirements
  • 15+ years of professional experience in concept development and design of stream and river restoration and floodplain management projects
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or master's degree in civil or environmental engineering if undergraduate degree was not in engineering
  • Current professional engineer (PE) license in Washington or Oregon, or ability to readily obtain one via comity application based on licensure in another US state
  • Familiarity with Washington State (e.g., SEPA, HPA, Shoreline) permitting requirements
