Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency medical care to patients in the emergency department
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries
  • Perform medical procedures such as suturing, wound care, and splinting
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory tests
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
  • Stay up-to-date with current medical research and advancements in emergency medicine

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state
  • Experience working in a hospital emergency department
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Knowledge of public health practices and family planning methods
