Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of complex systems and ensuring that they meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of system architectures and designs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and technical reports
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
  • Participate in system testing and evaluation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related technical field
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, software development, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, design, and development principles
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related technical field
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, software development, or a related field
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects
  • Strong understanding of DoD and IC organizations and their systems
