We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Nuclear Command and Communications Systems Group, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing innovative solutions to support the nation's strategic defense needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to teams working on systems development, requirements analysis, and test evaluation.
- Participate in the development of technical direction and ensure that systems meet user needs while mitigating program risks.
- Conduct analysis and identify solutions to address critical technical challenges and meet program milestones.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and analysts to apply innovative solutions to real-world defense system problems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- At least ten years of relevant experience in a technical position, with a strong background in systems engineering, software development, and test evaluation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Master's degree or PhD in a related field.
- Experience leading a team of engineers and/or scientists, with demonstrated results.
- Experience working with Government and Military leadership, presenting complex analysis, and coordinating across a geographically dispersed team.
- Experience working on highly classified programs and holding an active US Top Secret/SCI Security clearance.
