Role Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Eligibility Benefits Specialist who has a background in outpatient behavioral health settings or healthcare environments. This role requires a professional demeanor and a compassionate approach towards clients.
Reporting to the Site Administrator, the Eligibility Benefits Specialist will be tasked with:
- Verifying clients' insurance benefits and eligibility to ensure coverage for services rendered.
- Analyzing benefit-related issues and providing recommendations for resolution.
- Assisting clients with the AHCCCS eligibility and enrollment process.
- Updating and verifying demographic information in the electronic health record system.
- Supporting the outpatient clinic with additional related tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required.
- At least two years of direct experience with the AHCCCS application process is essential.
- Experience in insurance verification and eligibility is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the importance of maintaining confidentiality of protected health information.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic health records (EHR) is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Eligibility to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card is necessary.

- Ability to remain composed in crisis situations and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Maintain professional conduct in line with ethical standards and agency policies.
- Foster positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
- A valid Arizona driver's license and appropriate liability insurance are required for driving on agency business.
