Position Overview

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Business Analyst at Pella Corporation plays a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and communicating key marketplace and business insights necessary for enhancing operational performance. This position involves the ongoing analysis of sales patterns across various segments of the business and all platforms, assessing the effectiveness of promotional activities (ROI) with actionable recommendations, and understanding industry trends to provide analytical support to the corporate account team.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess strengths in the following areas:

  • Meticulous attention to detail with precise data gathering
  • Proficiency in data visualization and storytelling
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in data presentation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

The selected candidate will lead the development and maintenance of data flows and workflows, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable data to support Pella's business objectives.

Utilize visual analytics tools and methodologies (such as Oracle Systems, Power BI, and Excel) to compile, consolidate, and communicate relevant insights and metrics to the account team and channel partners. Identify trends through internal reporting and external data sources, providing recommendations based on findings.

Collaborate closely with the account team to create new or enhance existing analytical reports. Conduct ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and in-depth analytics utilizing various information sources and analytical techniques.

Work in partnership with IT and Data Analytics teams to refine Pella's data practices and enhance reporting and analytics methodologies, driving automation and improved data accessibility. This includes working with data warehouses, Salesforce, transactional systems, and vendor-managed systems.

Demonstrate the ability to comprehend and modify existing programs while also being capable of developing new applications.

Act as a subject matter expert for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), showcasing expertise in Oracle BI Server, Oracle BI Answers, Oracle BI Interactive Dashboard, Oracle BI Publisher, and performance tuning of BI applications.

Design, develop, and configure dashboards and BI reporting solutions as required for the business. Document development methodologies and address inquiries as necessary.

Maintain regular communication with both internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional partners and counterparts.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited institution, along with three to five years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, and technical documents. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in presenting information and responding to inquiries from various audiences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and geometry. Capable of applying concepts like fractions, percentages, and ratios to real-world situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Proficient in interpreting a variety of technical instructions and managing abstract and concrete variables.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Cognos, Salesforce, Power BI, and Oracle (OBIEE). Preferred skills include MS Project, MS Office, MS Access, Data Warehouse/Cognos, and effective presentation skills.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

Some travel may be required, estimated at 5-10% of the time.
