Assistive Technology Specialist

CCARC, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Assistive and Adaptive Technology Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that adults with disabilities have access to the technology they need to enhance their independence and quality of life.
Job Summary:The Assistive and Adaptive Technology Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the integration and implementation of assistive technology tools and resources to support adults with disabilities. This includes collaborating with staff, clients, DDS, vendors, and their families to identify, acquire, and utilize assistive technology solutions effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct community and in-home based assessments to determine the assistive technology needs of program participants and adults with disabilities in the community.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate enabling and assistive technology devices, software, and/or applications that match individual needs.
- Facilitate the integration of enabling and assistive technology into daily routines and activities of individuals supported by CCARC, Inc.
- Provide training and support to individuals served, staff, and their families on the use of enabling and assistive technology tools.
- Partner with Service teams to determine internal needs for AT assessments amongst CCARC Programs.
- Monitor the effectiveness of enabling and assistive technology solutions and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of assistive technology assessments, recommendations, and implementation plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Engineering, Assistive Technology, Special Education, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with adults with disabilities (may be substituted with applicable experience).
- Demonstrates knowledge of assistive technology tools, devices, software, and applications.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to services for adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to design and implement training programs.
- Certification in Assistive Technology or a related area.
- Experience working with diverse populations and in a team-oriented environment.
