The Ultrasound Imaging Specialist conducts diagnostic examinations on patients utilizing ultrasound technology to assess tissues and bodily structures, delivering high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and physicians.

This role encompasses all facets of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, gynecological, small parts, Doppler studies, and interventional procedures, with a focus on understanding the developmental principles to meet each patient's unique age-specific needs and provide tailored care.

The specialist performs ultrasound diagnostic tasks by positioning patients, selecting suitable transducers, and employing correct scanning sequences to generate precise images that assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Ensures optimal technical quality and accuracy of all ultrasound evaluations in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) standards and FDA quality control protocols.

Accurately enters data into electronic medical records, RIS, and PACS to capture essential information regarding examinations, supply charges, resource allocations, and all pertinent clinical details.

Organizes processed images, measurements, calculations, and other data in a coherent sequence for presentation to the physician for interpretation. Engages with physicians as needed regarding the quality of images and data obtained.

Must be a graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program specializing in Sonography, with credentials from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS or RDMS.
