Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistive Technology Specialist to join our team at CCARC, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the integration and implementation of assistive technology tools and resources to support adults with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the assistive technology needs of program participants and adults with disabilities in the community.
    • Compile detailed reports and document all necessary follow-up on assessments and training completed.
    • Evaluate and recommend appropriate enabling and assistive technology devices, software, and/or applications that match the individual's needs.
  • Implementation and Training
    • Facilitate the integration of enabling and assistive technology into daily routines and activities of the individuals supported by CCARC, Inc.
    • Provide training and support to not only the individuals served, but also staff, and their families on the use of enabling and assistive technology tools.
  • Collaboration and Support
    • Partner with Service Teams at CCARC, Inc. to determine the internal needs for AT assessments amongst the CCARC Programs.
    • Participate in Agency and team meetings, as needed and as requested to assess assistive and adaptive technology needs.
    • Work collaboratively with Program Managers, Direct Support Professionals, and other staff to develop and implement person-centered plans that incorporate assistive technology.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance
    • Track, analyze, and report on various data sources to demonstrate compliance as well as track trends and identify areas of organizational improvement to provide best practices.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of enabling and assistive technology solutions and make necessary adjustments.
    • Maintain an inventory of enabling and assistive technology devices and ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of assistive technology assessments, recommendations, and implementation plans.
    • Prepare reports on the utilization and effectiveness of assistive technology within the organization.
  • Policy and Compliance
    • Stay current with federal and state regulations related to assistive technology and services for adults with intellectual disabilities.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Education and Professional Development
    • Remain informed of current technology, how to use it, and recommend organizational upgrades and investments.
    • Continue education as needed to maintain certifications and expertise in the field.
