Business Development and Operations Assistant Manager

Synterex Inc. is a global consortium of highly experienced clinical development professionals specializing in medical writing, submission publishing, and clinical science and operations support.
The company offers remote or on-site services with a focus on providing clear, concise, accurate, and fully compliant documentation from early drug development through post-approval.
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our Business Development team, working directly with the CEO and other Executive Leadership team members.
This role will focus on supporting new business initiatives and helping to drive growth by prospecting and managing new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in communicating the Synterex value proposition to prospects and clients
- Support the development of new and existing business opportunities
- Collaborate with clients and senior leadership to support business planning efforts and ensure success in achieving shared goals
- Conduct prospecting calls and participate in meetings with potential clients
- Support the preparation of proposals and contribute to negotiations (quotes/proposals, RFP/RFIs)
- Help manage the sales funnel by tracking progress and maintaining updated records
- Assist in closing deals to generate revenue in partnership with senior business development staff
- Attend conferences and trade shows as needed (may be conducted virtually or in person)
- Manage and mentor junior sales staff to ensure their development and success within the team
- Collaborate with Executive Leadership on key performance indicators (KPIs) and use metrics to inform business development strategies
- Coordinate with Business Operations and Finance to support client inquiries, help with forecasting, and assist in preparing budgets
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a scientific, health-related, or business-related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or contract research organization sectors (oncology experience a plus)
- Demonstrated success in selling business-to-business services and products
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and across all levels of the organization
- Organizational and time management skills to balance multiple tasks
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Salesforce a plus
