Production Manager

Job Summary
Manage all day-to-day aspects of Vicor's VI-Chip manufacturing production operations, reporting to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing jobs are processed per documented instructions in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of attracting, selecting, training, developing, and managing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address any production or quality-related issues
- Communicate to various departments on production status and issues
- Directly manage a 3-shift operation, each shift has 2 Production Supervisors that report to this position
- Ensure all orders are shipped on-time, while adhering to all product quality requirements
- Optimize labor and capital resources to minimize product cost and maximize efficiency
- Manage departmental costs and budgets
- Develop departmental resources and address any departmental performance issues
- Work to continuously improve operations, reducing costs, scrap, and cycle time
- Establish a working environment that promotes continuous improvement and high morale
- Work with Production Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Design Engineering on a regular basis
- Ensure the smooth integration of new processes into the manufacturing organization, proactively training production personnel, reviewing work instructions, and ensuring production personnel understand and follow new procedures
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering, Business, Operations, or Management
- 8+ years of experience working in high-tech manufacturing production
- Experience working in both new production introduction and high-volume environments
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Proven record of attracting, selecting, training, developing, and managing staff
- Demonstrated experience utilizing world-class manufacturing techniques such as SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, 8D, etc.
Compensation:
$121,040.00 - $151,300.00 - $196,690.00

This range is based on our current market-driven pay structures. Individual salaries are determined based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's overall qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience, as well as company internal equity.
