Senior Business Development Manager

The Senior Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities in the Manufacturing and Distribution industry vertical. This involves leveraging networking, cold calling, advertising, and other strategies to generate interest from potential clients. The successful candidate will develop persuasive approaches and pitches to convince potential clients to partner with ABM, while also growing and retaining existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute short and long-term sales plans to maintain present sales, attract new prospects, create proposals, respond to RFPs, and close new business.
- Own the information base on prospective clients within the territory, utilizing ABM-branded marketing materials to create detailed, customized, innovative, and lively proposals.
- Research a customer's existing facility solutions and programs, scheduling bid walks of the facility with the prospect.
- Negotiate contracts, close deals, and manage the transition to operations to ensure proposal commitments are delivered.
- Establish a diverse network of relationships that reflect the ABM Way, including people of influence within the industry, key community partners, strategic partners, and prospective clients.
- Maintain a database for the territory using Salesforce, effectively managing the assigned budget and supporting online and direct marketing campaigns.
- Monitor bid schedules and understand the competition in the marketplace fully, assisting in training and developing a network of skilled and informed operators.
- Assist the corporation with competitive intelligence and possess a hunter mentality with services sales experience.
- 8+ years in Business Development and Sales.
- Bachelor's degree or significant related experience.
- Hunter mentality with services sales experience required.
- Manufacturing/Distribution Facility Services Sales experience (janitorial, engineering, parking management, security, fire protection, pest control, etc.).
- Relevant and immediate sales contacts within the territory preferred.
- Work well under pressure to meet established goals.
- Salesforce or other CRM & Excel preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a matrixed and diverse workforce, collaborate with operations, other departments, and teams.
- Strength in writing and presenting compelling, detailed, sales proposals.
- Well organized and able to handle multiple proposals and processes simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
