Job Title: Triage Medical Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Triage Medical Assistant to join our team at Catalyst Health Group: Clinical Careers. As a Triage Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in handling inbound and outbound communications for our offices, providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with patients via phone, online chats, emails, and faxes in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Use pre-defined clinical protocols to obtain and document required clinical information, ensuring accurate and timely updates to patient records.
  • Identify special needs and take appropriate steps to ensure patient appointments are scheduled accordingly.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Escalate issues outside of existing protocols to meet patient needs, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Schedule appointments and query clinical information from the EMR (e-Clinical Works) with accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification, with current and verifiable proof of certification.
  • 2-3 years of related experience, preferably in a Primary Care setting.
  • Fluency in medical terminology and medication refill protocols.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information, with knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Basic proficiency in desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems.
