Position Overview:

The Information Security Engineer, Lead will play a pivotal role in the formulation and execution of cybersecurity strategies, focusing on vulnerability management, network protection, application security, and database integrity. This position requires effective communication with both senior management and operational staff, ensuring clarity in verbal and written interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide a team of over 15 technical professionals in a large-scale cybersecurity initiative.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high standards of quality and meeting established deadlines.
  • Assess team capabilities and establish achievable goals, adapting quickly to evolving client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with senior program leadership as an integral member of the program management team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years in overseeing program or project operations, with a focus on developing engineering and management protocols.
  • Extensive experience in configuring and managing Windows Server, Active Directory, and network devices (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
  • Proven track record as a technical lead managing large teams.
  • Familiarity with public cloud service providers, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of federal compliance standards, including NIST 800-53, FIPS, and FedRAMP.
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking principles and DNS.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Telecommunications, accompanied by 8+ years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as SANS GIAC Security Certification, ISC2 CISSP, or vendor-specific security certifications.

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.

Compensation:

Compensation is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, and experience. The projected salary range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 annually.
