Position Overview:

The Lead Information Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and execution of cybersecurity strategies, focusing on areas such as vulnerability management, network protection, application safeguarding, and database security. This position requires effective communication with both senior management and daily operational staff, ensuring clarity and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the development and deployment of cybersecurity solutions, managing a team of over 15 technical professionals within a significant cybersecurity initiative.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes while adhering to established timelines and resource management.
  • Set objectives and deadlines based on team capabilities, adapting swiftly to evolving client needs and environments.
  • Collaborate closely with senior program leadership and contribute as a key member of the program management team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in supervising program or project operations, including the development of engineering and management protocols.
  • 4+ years of expertise in managing Windows Server, Active Directory, and network devices, along with cloud security operations.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead for large teams.
  • Familiarity with public cloud service providers, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of federal compliance standards, including NIST 800-53, FIPS, and FedRAMP.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles and DNS.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Telecommunications, accompanied by 8+ years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as SANS GIAC Security Certification, ISC2 CISSP, or vendor-specific security administration certifications.

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
