Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to ensure adherence to IT security protocols.
- Conduct thorough analyses to guarantee that security measures are effectively integrated throughout the system development lifecycle and ongoing monitoring phases.
- Create, document, and execute strategies for monitoring, evaluating, and validating security measures across designated information systems.
- Prepare detailed documentation of security control implementations.
- Possess a solid understanding of network security architecture, including its topology, protocols, components, and foundational principles.
- Exhibit experience in developing continuous monitoring and contingency plans that highlight critical mission and business functions, along with recovery processes.
- Assess Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) requirements to evaluate their relevance to current systems.
- Offer insights, recommendations, and corrective measures for any security controls that do not meet compliance standards.
- Collect and analyze evidence necessary for the resolution of outstanding POAMs.
- Perform comprehensive self-assessments, utilizing both automated and manual methods to evaluate management, operational, and technical security controls.
- Enhance processes to align with IT security objectives by documenting lessons learned for each system and application.
- Design test scenarios and exercises to assess and investigate new technological advancements.
- Record test outcomes and related artifacts in the appropriate departmental repository.
- Document assessment activities and results in detail to facilitate external reviews of all assessment processes and findings.
- Demonstrate expertise in developing, maintaining, and overseeing cybersecurity initiatives and training materials.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of information assurance, cybersecurity, and privacy policy methodologies.
- Familiarity with the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA).
- Knowledge of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Awareness of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
- Understanding of Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) practices.
- Familiarity with the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework.
- Ability to collaborate with clients to assess needs, provide support, resolve issues, and meet expectations.
- Knowledge of CSAM reporting and controls management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) required.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in DoD Risk Management Framework and Information Assurance security compliance.
- Expertise in RMF methodologies and documentation processes.
- Experience supporting government agencies is preferred.
- Proficiency with a variety of security software applications and tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
