Executive Chef Assistant

Lodge at Marconi is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals committed to delivering exceptional dining and event experiences.
As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of creative, innovative, and high-quality menus. You will oversee all food preparation, production, and presentation, ensuring that recipes are followed and preparation and presentation are adhered to consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in menu development and implementation
- Oversee food preparation, production, and presentation
- Prepare a variety of cuisines utilizing skill and creativity
- Assist in standardizing production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Manage maintenance of all kitchen equipment
- Assist staff with job functions as needed
- Assist the front-of-house team to resolve patron feedback
- Possess and maintain a thorough understanding of the industry and stay abreast of industry trends
- Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of wines offered in restaurants and wine/food pairings
- Ensure all kitchen and food operations are in compliance with legislated health and licensing guidelines
- Assist in creating requisitions and/or purchases of all food products
- Prepare accurate and timely reports as required
- Assist Executive Chef in hiring, training, supervising, motivating, and developing kitchen staff
Qualifications:
- Possess strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship skills
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Acute attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
- Minimum of 5 years of kitchen experience with at least 1 year as a sous chef
