About the Role

Lodge at Marconi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of creative and innovative menus, overseeing food preparation and presentation, and ensuring that recipes are followed consistently.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing creative, innovative, and high-quality menus
  • Oversee all food preparation, production, and presentation
  • Ensure that recipes are followed and preparation and presentation are adhered to consistently
  • Prepare a variety of cuisines utilizing skill and creativity
  • Assist in standardizing production recipes to ensure consistent quality of accepted samples
  • Plan production schedules and supervise production line
  • Manage maintenance of all kitchen equipment
  • Assist staff with job functions as needed to ensure optimum service to all patrons
  • Assist the front-of-house team to resolve any patron feedback with grace and patience
  • Possess and maintain a thorough understanding of the industry and stay abreast of industry trends
  • Communicate/incorporate information to ensure the kitchen remains current
  • Ensure all kitchen and food operations are in compliance with all legislated health and licensing guidelines
Qualifications
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Acute attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
  • Minimum of 5 years of kitchen experience with at least 1 year as a sous chef
