Position Overview:

As a Clinical Nurse Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing patient care during the preoperative, operative, and recovery phases. This role includes direct supervision of LPNs, Technicians, ancillary staff, and medical assistants, ensuring that each patient receives the highest quality of care. You will advocate for patients and uphold the standards of nursing practice within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and set realistic expectations.
  • Review patient health assessments and medical clearances, addressing any concerns prior to the procedure.
  • Evaluate patient charts for accuracy, document baseline physical status, and communicate any changes to the physician.
  • Offer emotional support to patients before and after surgery.
  • Maintain effective communication with all surgical team members, providing regular updates.
  • Ensure all medical clearances and pre-operative tests are complete and report necessary information to anesthesia.
  • Assess and document patients' vital signs and physical status accurately, reporting observations to the surgical team.
  • Assist patients to and from the surgical suite and recovery areas, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Support the discharge process for patients.
  • Prepare and stock surgical rooms with necessary supplies and equipment for each procedure.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately as directed by a physician.
  • Manage sterile supplies and dispose of contaminated materials appropriately.
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Current ACLS/BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities and the capacity to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an outpatient surgical environment.
  • Background in operating room circulation.
Work Schedule:
  • Rotating schedule – Days.
Compensation:
  • $52.00/hour, commensurate with experience.
